About NPower Delaware
NPower Delaware is an affiliate of the NPower Network, a national network of 9 local nonprofits, begun in Seattle that helps other nonprofits use technology to better serve their communities. Microsoft Corporation provided founding support to the NPower Network.
Our Mission: NPower Delaware’s mission is to help nonprofits use technology to better serve the diverse communities of the state of Delaware.
Our Purpose: When a case worker in a shelter begins a relationship with a homeless woman and her children, technology is there to record, track, and report on that client’s progress toward self sufficiency. When a child enters an after school program, technology is there to help educators track improvements in that child’s grades. When a health clinic meets unexpected costs, technology is there to help them reach out to their donors.
At first glance, technology may seem removed from the immediate needs of the clients and communities who depend on nonprofits on a day-to-day basis. But in reality, technology plays a role in almost every direct service that nonprofits deliver.
PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
NPower Delaware's service offerings are guided by three goals: to help nonprofits improve their stability, improve their effectiveness, and improve their impact on our community.
Improving the Nonprofit’s Stability and Security - Email, virus protections, data back-up, reliable Internet connections, etc., need to be running quietly in the background so that nonprofit workers can do their jobs without the distraction of broken technology, lost files or duplicated efforts. NPower’s “Stable and Secure” services provide nonprofits with:
• Scheduled maintenance services with access to emergency support and our free help desk (donated by CAI)
• Infrastructure services, such as hardware upgrades and server installations
• Remote maintenance of computers to save on cost and tackle problems before they become “show stoppers”
• Web Design Services to help organizations deliver their message
Improving the Nonprofit’s Effectiveness - NPower provides the training, tools, implementation, and innovative thinking necessary to overcome the challenges many organizations face in delivering their services and reporting on their impact. By doing so, we help nonprofits become more effective in accomplishing their mission and goals. We provide services that:
• Streamline databases, making information easier to access and obtain
• Foster collaboration between staff members and other organizations through the use of tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Exchange, CRM, and SharePoint
• Help organizations diversify their fundraising
• Assist in specialized software selection
• Train employees on software use
Improving the Nonprofit’s Impact on the Community - Finally, technology can provide great value to individuals in need. By helping nonprofits leverage technology, we provide nonprofits with technology that improves their impact on the individuals, families, and causes they serve. We provide groups with technology to:
• Bridge the digital divide
• Build computer labs for community use
• Gather information on the needs of those they serve
• Speed communications with clients and customers
• Streamline case management
• Provide services and distribute information through their website and mobile platforms
